My Philosophy on Patient Care:
Health is a combination of many factors. I believe in each of us caring for our bodies through a healthy diet and activity level. Choosing carefully what we put into our bodies for fuel is very important as is the amount of exercise we give our bodies. In addition, choosing not to expose ourselves to toxins including smoking plays a major role.
While diet, exercise and lifestyle modification is a terrific place to start, many will still experience medical conditions that require treatment. I follow evidence based medical practices and guidelines to keep these conditions under control. This means that I base my treatments on what the research has proven to work. Palmetto Primary Care Physicians is continuing to strive for the best outcomes by following these types of guidelines. We have patient care coordinators that are currently reviewing patients with high blood pressure and diabetes to be sure all recommended interventions, medications and testing is occurring.
My practice also involves the face to face encounter with patients on a regular basis depending on the medical conditions. Although technology is going to be increasingly helpful in keeping the lines of communication between doctors and patients open, I still believe in the one on one in person appointment. The actual examination of a patient is integral to determining accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
