Doctors

 

​Dr. Funke moved from Colombia, South America to the Lowcountry in her teenage years and attended Summerville High School. She remained in the area for her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston studying biology and moved on to the Medical University of South Carolina to study medicine. 

After graduating with a Doctor of Medicine, she completed a residency in internal medicine and ultimately a fellowship in endocrinology both at the Medical University of South Carolina.

During that time, she started a family with her husband who is a Summerville native, and they have enjoyed seeing their two daughters grow up in the Lowcountry. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two daughters and two dogs, kayaking while spotting marsh wildlife, baking cupcakes with the girls, and date nights with her husband.
