PPCP May Be Obligated to Admit to Specific Hospitals

Physicians typically maintain admitting privileges at several hospitals. Being an independent doctor allows them to admit patients to the hospital that is best equipped to handle their patient's specific condition. But some patient insurance coverage may limit the admission to a particular hospital. Should that PPCP physician not be credentialed at that particular hospital, the physician will refer to that particular hospital and particular insurance coverage criteria the patient has chosen.
